Leah Nelson was asked by student leaders of SafeTeen New Mexico to give short presentations during all-school assemblies about the dangers of e-cigarettes and vaping. She presented about the new EVALI lung injuries and focused on the dangers of black-market THC vapes in particular. She conducted four assemblies, with a total of over 3,700 adolescents in local Middle and High Schools. The students were really excited to understand what was going on in the lungs, see the CT scans and ICU photos, and had lots of great questions afterwards. The photos show Valley High School, where she did two assemblies (half of the student body each).
